The full listening lounge — search, browse, and build playlists, just for you.
Built for people who actually want to browse and queue music, not just hit shuffle.
Search by artist, album, track, or playlist with an accelerated fast path over your library — plus an A–Z quickbar for large libraries and an instrumental-only filter for when you don't want vocals.
Jump into your library by mood with one tap — a curated Moods row backed by MusicMind's real mood and energy tags, plus genre browsing. Without MusicMind, you get a Genres row from Plex instead.
Build native playlists with drag-to-reorder, or import and sync playlists straight from Plex.
Play, pause, skip, seek, and a real editable queue — remove tracks, drag to reorder, or jump to any track. One tap on any track or album opens a quick menu: Start Room, Share Link, Go to Album, Play Next, Add to Playlist, or Start Radio.
Start a shared listening session — guests join with a code and queue tracks together in real time.
Send a time-limited link to a single song, album, playlist, or artist — with album art included right in the email. No login, no app install for the recipient.
Start a station from any track or album, or hit Random Radio on the search page for something with no starting point. The queue refills itself as you listen — powered by MusicMind's "Based on" matching when it's installed, or Plex's own sonic similarity otherwise. Or tap Recently Added on the search page for a shuffled mix of everything added to Plex in the last 14 days.
The next track is preloaded and handed off seamlessly, so albums play straight through with no audible gap. Audio also keeps going as you browse — it never stops just because you changed pages.
Real title, artist, and album art with working play, pause, and skip controls on your lock screen, CarPlay, and Bluetooth displays.
MusicMind for Plex is an optional companion app that pre-analyzes your library with audio fingerprinting and AI-assisted genre and mood classification. Player works fine without it, using direct Plex queries — but if MusicMind is also running, Player automatically taps into its local index instead, which is why search, genre pills, and predictive genre search feel instant when it's installed.

Yes — MusicLounge Player connects to your own Plex Media Server's music library. Your Plex token stays on your server; it's never exposed to any browser.
Yes. It's self-hosted — you run it on your own hardware (NAS, VPS, home server) and there's no subscription.
No. Guests join a Room with a code, or open a Share link directly — no login and no app install required on their end.
No — it's optional. Player works on its own using direct Plex queries. If you also run MusicMind, Player automatically uses its local index for faster search and genre browsing.
Player covers the same everyday-listening ground — search, playlists, queue, mood-based browsing — while adding Room and Share modes for listening with other people, which Plexamp doesn't offer.
Tap Radio on any track or album to start a continuously refilling station based on it, or hit Random Radio on the search page for a station with no starting point. It uses MusicMind's "Based on" matching when MusicMind is installed, and falls back to Plex's own sonic similarity when it isn't.
Self-hosted, open source, running on your own Plex library in minutes.
